TOURIST ATTRACTIONS OF PAKISTAN

Welcome to the wonderful land of beauty, PAKISTAN, having lots of mesmerizing tourist attractions. Pakistan is amongst the countries with the most alluring natural beauty. This land is blessed with countless captivating and breathtaking sights and is surely a Heaven for tourists. From fantastic beaches to glorious peaks, rivers, stunning waterfalls, beautiful lakes, lush green valleys and amazing wildlife, this land possesses just about everything.

Lahore, the heart of Pakistan, is the historic cultural centre of Punjab region having many tourist attractions like Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque (a Mughal-era mosque), Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore Museum and Shalimar Garden, having great historic significance. In addition, it is a great inspiration for tourists to enjoy the blustering parade and flag ceremony conducted by Pakistan army and Indian forces at Wagah Border which commemorates the worth and strength of our military forces.

Karachi, the city of lights, is considered to be the backbone of Pakistan having wonderful and gorgeous places like Clifton beach, Paradise point, Cape mount, Ibn-e-Qasim park, Mohatta Palace, Teen Talwar, Quaid’s Mausoleum and other monuments and memorials which were visited by many tourists from all over the world. Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, it is famous for several beautiful and striking tourist attractions like Faisal mosque, Pakistan monument, Rawal Lake, Daman-e-Koh, Pir Sohawa, Lok Virsa Museum, Shakarparian where people visit, enjoy and feel delightful. Other than these beautiful places, we have Gwadar, Sikh Gurdwara, Derawar Fort in Bahawalpur, Rohtas Fort near Jhelum and Princess of hope which is a beautifully carved statue in Hingol National Park lies on Makran coast in Baluchistan. The name is given after a visit by the legendary Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie before this nobody is familiar with this sculpture. It is very strange that this statue is not manmade, it is natural to always be an astonishing sight for visitors. Moreover, we also have such marvellous and golden places that attract the tourists from all over the world. Yes! Indus Valley civilization, Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa, amazing archaeological sites.

Khewra salt range, our pride, Pakistan’s largest and the world’s second largest and oldest salt range, always catches the attention of people who come here to get pleasure from the enchanting beauty of Pakistan. It is very interesting to know about the discovery of this salt mine. Alexander the Great, found the salt reserves here while crossing Jhelum and Mianwali during his Indian campaign in 320BC to fight with Raja Porus. The most amazing aspect is that it was not discovered by Alexander himself, not by his army or soldiers, but was discovered by the horses when they found the licking of out the salt from stones. It is famous for having a number of salty pools, multi-coloured salt bricks and beautiful artistic carvings like the replica of Minar-e-Pakistan, Badshahi Mosque, Lahore’s Shimla Hill, Great Wall of China and the Mall road of Murree. The most notable feature of the mine is the salt bridge which was there without any support and provides the walkway for visitors.

Pakistan is known to have the greatest and stunning mountains, glaciers and peaks presenting the amazing creation of ALLAH ALMIGHTY. This country is the homeland of about 108 peaks of about more than 7000 meters in Karakoram Range, Himalayan Range and Hindu Kush Mountain Range. It is hereby important to mention first five peaks of Pakistan which are K2 [8611m high; located at the Karakoram, 2nd at World rank], Nanga Parbat [8126m high; located at Himalayan, 9th at World rank], Gasherbrum I [8080m high; located at Baltoro Karakoram, 11th at World rank], Broad peak [8051m high; located at Baltoro Karakoram, 12th at World rank] and Gasherbrum II [8035m high; located at Baltoro Karakoram, 13th at World rank] respectively. Other than these mountain ranges and peaks, we have Rakaposhi, Tirich Mir, Makran peak and also some breathtaking glaciers like Baltoro glaciers (longest glacier outside the Polar Regions), Siachen glaciers, Biafo glaciers, Batura glaciers, Nubra glaciers.

The most beautiful province of Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a land of alluring and mesmerizing places that sounds amazing by having its spectacular areas like Chitral, Malam Jabba, Nathia Gali, Dunga Gali, Mushkpuri, Ayubia National Park, Kaghan, Naran, Shogran, Thandiani, Shinkiari, Miranjani, Lalazar, Mansehra, Kumrat Valley, Kalash valley and Swat valley (the mini Switzerland). These places are, no doubt, the marvellous beauty of Pakistan that attracts the tourists to come and visit these places enthusiastically. Beautiful lakes like Lulusar lake, Ansoo lake and the famous Lake Saif-ul-Muluk (the lake of fairies). The greenish-blue crystal-like shiny blue water surrounded by giant glaciers reflects the beauty of this lake.

Pakistan is full of such lovely and amazing locations which will make you fall in love with this country. While talking about Pakistan, how can we forget the beautiful places of Gilgit-Baltistan having lavish green valleys like Fairy meadows, Hunza valley, Shangrilla, Cold desert of Skardu, Shigar Valley, Khaplu valley, Deosai Plains, Nagar valley, Naltar valley, Phandar valley, Passu cones and also the most visited site Khanjrab pass. Beautiful lakes like Sheosar lake, Upper Kachura lake, Shangrila lake, Naltar lake, Rainbow Lake, Attabad lake and the stunning Manthokha waterfall always wait for the tourists to captivate them by depicting a wonderful scenario of natural beauty all around.

Pakistan’s natural beauty can never be completed without Kashmir, a land of Heaven, a land of beauty where freshness and peace of mind of visitors carry the great sense of enjoyment. Kashmir, a blessed land, is no doubt a Paradise on earth. Its hot plains in winter and cool valleys in summer create a centre of attention for tourists. Incredible lakes like Ratti Gali lake, Dal lake, Banjosa lake, Mansar lake and green and cool valleys like Neelam valley, Leepa valley, Doda, Kargil, Kupwara and Nubra valley are the real natural beauty and greatest places to visit.
