The first round of HBL Pakistan Super League 2018 was completed yesterday. All teams have played five matches. HBL Pakistan Super League is now enter in interesting phase. Yet it has to be cleared which team will play the playoff and which will not. The next two matches of the League will decide the probably four teams which will playoff.
So far Multan Sultans who are playing first time in the Pakistan Super League are at the top of point table with 7 points. Karachi Kings are at the 2nd spot in the points table with 7 points but their run rate is low as compared to Multan Sultans. Defending Champions Peshawar Zalmi is at no 3 in the points table with 6 points. After Yesterday win, Islamabad United maintain their 4th position in the point table with 6 points but their run rate is low as compared to Peshawar Zalmi. After regular defeats, Quetta Gladiators are at the 5th position in the point table with 4 points. Lahore Qalanders are at the bottom of points table and they have not win a single match in the Pakistan Super League 2018. Now it is very difficult for Lahore Qalanders to qualify for Play off. On the other hand Quetta Gladiators have chance to qualify for play off if they win at least four matches in next round of Pakistan Super League.
Kumar Sangakara from Multan Sultans is leading runs scorer so far. He scored 177 runs in 4 innings. Dwayne Smith from Peshawar Zalmi is at no 2. He scored 148 runs in 4 innings. Shane Watson is at number 3. He scored 146 runs in 5 innings. Shoaib Malik, captain of Multan Sultan has the highest batting average. His batting average is 62.50 in Pakistan Super League. Kumar Sangakara from Multan Sultan is at no 2 with 59.00 batting average. Hussain Talat from Islamabad United is at no 3 with 50.00 batting average. Shane Watson hit 12 sixes, Dwayne Smith hit 9 sixes and Shoaib Malik hit 7 sixes so far.
In Bowling if we look at the stats, Imran Tahir from Multan Sultan is the leading wicket taker so far. He take 10 wickets in 5 matches. Muhammad Sami from Islamabad United is at no 2. He take 8 wickets in 5 matches. Junaid Khan from Multan Sultan is at no 3. He take 7 wickets in 5 matches. Fakhar Zaman from Lahore Qalanders has the best economy rate of 3.66. Muhammad Nawaz has the 2nd best economy rate of 3.93. Liam Dawson has the 3rd best economy rate of 5.00.
