Match 2: Quetta Gladiators Vs Karachi Kings
Sunny day at Dubai Cricket Stadium and good atmosphere of cricket. Karachi Kings goes with Shahid Afridi , Ravi Bopara and Colin Engram in the bank to start their expedition PSl season 3 against Quetta Gladiators two time runner-up’s of previous both seasons. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Imad waseem leading their teams Quetta and Karachi respectively. Imad Waseem won the toss and select to bat first first with strong bowling line up to defend. Can score runs and put pressure on Gladiators, Imad said at toss.
Khuram Manzoor and J.Denly were the openers for Karachi. Both openers attacked the bowlers and with flourish start. They scored over 9 r.p.o for 3.3 overs. Denly was runout for 14 courtessy of Watson’s wonderful fielding effort. They scored 39 for 1 in power play. Khurram Manzoor was struggling in the middle and score at low strike rate. They reached score of 50 in 7.3 overs. After 10 overs, the score was 60 for two lossing Denly and Babar Azam Cheaply. Engram and Bopara candidate the innings to 100 for 3 in 14 overs. Afridi still to bat and par score was upto 175 at that time. Quetta came strongly and took six wickets in last five overs to restrict Karachi for just 149 for 9 in 20 overs. Watson claiming three wickets in the final over of innings.
Assad shafique and Watson to start the ininngs for Quetta and imad wasim with the ball. Defending 150, karachi needs early wickets and exactly that happens. Watson runout himself in the 2nd over of match. Asad followed him next over chipping the ball in the air on leg side against Imad. The confident Kevin Peterson was caught on leg side by Ravi Bopara against Mills.Tymal Mills played for Quetta in last season.It was nightmare for Quetta to start the innings, scoring 26 for 3 in power play. Shahid Afrirdi bowled his first over for just 1 run. Runs are drying for Quetta. Umer Amin and Rossow triying to build the innings with single and doubles. Rossow was caught deep on long mid-on by Bopara against Imad to cripple Quetta for 45 for 4 in 9 overs .Required Run rate was increased upto 9.5 at that time. At half stage score was 52 for 4. Sarfaraz and Umar Amin were the last hope for Quetta. Umar was caught by Afridi on boundry. It may be the moment of this PSL edition. Kings picking wickets and putting more pressure on Quetta. They manage to score 130 for 8 in 20 overs losing the match by 19 runs.
