A VOICE OF LADY AGAINST DICTATORS BEGUM KULSOOM NAWAZ
Early and Personal Life.
Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was born on 29 March 1950 in Lahore into a Kashmiri family, and Kulsoom was married to the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 1971. She attended Islamia College and graduated from Forman Christian College in Lahore. She received a master’s degree in Urdu from the University of Punjab in 1970. She also received a PhD in Urdu Poetry.
Kulsoom had two sisters and brothers. From her maternal side, she was the granddaughter of the wrestler the Great Gama. She married Nawaz Sharif, the three-time prime minister of Pakistan, in April 1971. The couple has four children, Maryam, Asma, Hassan, and Hussain.
She served as a First Lady of Pakistan for three terms1990¬1993, 1997¬1999 and 2013¬2017. Kulsoom was elected from Lahore NA ¬120 constituency in a by-poll post-Nawaz Sharif disqualification from elections last year. She left for the United Kingdom shortly before the election campaign could begin.
Struggle Against Dictatorship.
Due to her illness, Kulsoom could not return to Pakistan and formally take an oath for the seat. Kulsoom also served as the president of PMLN from 1999 to 2002 after Nawaz Sharif government was dismissed by former president Pervez Musharaf. Kulsoom along with her daughter was placed under house arrest after Nawaz dismissal.
Strive Against Serious Diseases.
The 68 years old had been diagnosed with early-stage lymphoma in August last year and had been London since. The former first lady of Pakistan had suffered a cardiac arrest and placed on a ventilator in June this year. A slight improvement in her condition was reported by her family members in June a day before her husband and daughter were set to return to Pakistan to serve their sentences in the Avenfield corruption.
Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is the lady of courage .she was a brave lady that motivates all women’s .she never give up from hardship she faced all problems with passions. This the example of great women.
